Raechel Celeste Smith October 26 FANATIC PITBASHER

many Pitters assume one must not know a friendly Pit to come to our conclusions. I'd also bring up how eating non-farm-raised meat & okaying breeding, despite shelter crowding, goes against so-called animal activism. BUT yea---what would you say; how would you word it? I'm using your responses for something pretty cool. I need facts/awareness jam-packed into the shortest wording possible.

  • Raechel Celeste Smith WOW. Awesome. K, so Zazzle.com is great for spreading awareness because you can create any logo/design for pretty much ANY type of apparel [even leggings] and accessories...household stuff, etc. Anything you can customize, basically. So, I was wanting our most INFLUENTIAL points [facts/statistics/morals] in this fight against EASILY PREVENTABLE DEATHS to be printed on TShirts/Hoodies. I want it to draw attention. I want a large, colorful outline of a Pit-Bull head as the center focus of the shirt with whatever writing we choose plastered over it. Brief & precise but emotionally moving words. The reason I don't think bumper stickers and such are a good idea is because most Pitters have a violent streak and might damage our property if we expressed these opinions on anything other than ourselves.
  • Raechel Celeste Smith But yea, I want us to create some shirts/hoodies STAT. I need to wear them to every local park. This unleashed, aggressive dog breed trend in my otherwise lovely city is getting nuts.
  • Raechel Celeste Smith Statement apparel sparks controversy and can be the birth of many thought provoking discussions when stepping out into society.
  • Raechel Celeste Smith Perhaps the photo of all the Pit victim children with some facts next to it. A hoodie that shows loving Pits in their "before" photos on the front--and then some facts on the back of the hoodie telling the "after".
  • Raechel Celeste Smith I've searched EVERYWHERE online and can't find any pro-BSL apparel at all. Type in "BSL" on any site, and all that comes up is anti-BSL mess.
  • Raechel Celeste Smith Maybe print: "Russian Roulette? No, thanks; I have empathy." or print a list of various dog breeds with "Sweet & cuddly without the risk!" next to it.
  • Raechel Celeste Smith And then a pic of a vehicle with the words "Death by transportation=Unpreventable--and then a pic of a Pit Bull with the words "Death by this dog breed=Easily preventable"
  • Raechel Celeste Smith Since Pitters are obsessed with the vehicle comparison, as though adopting a Pit is a necessity like using a vehicle.
  • Raechel Celeste Smith I want us to come up with some solid plans, and I'll gladly design them so we can start buyin' 'em and wearing them.
  • Raechel Celeste Smith GG at the moment! Thanks SO much for the ideas. I want to make the Pitters out here feel like they aren't as influential as they think. They really think they're entitled to a point of not leashing. It's as though Pitters are exempt from pet laws. Tim Contigo and I crossed paths with several, tiny dogs and 1 Coon Hound who had muzzles on--yet the 2 dogs we saw who were the actual threats [2 Pits and a GIANT Mastiff] WERE NOT muzzled nor on leash. This is the entitlement I'm referring to.
  • Raechel Celeste Smith Anyone else, feel free to design also! I don't want to sound like a control freak. lol
  • Raechel Celeste Smith I'll wear it anywhere and everywhere.
  • Christy Cornell Pitbulls are too risky to be family pets. Children deserve to have much safer dogs as their animal friends.
  • Heather Lynn Hudak Wish we were never lied to as so many others "its all about the owner"...all the love in the world cannot stop genetics!
  • Sonya Del Rio Cerezo Remembering the experience I had with pits, watching pits behave in ways other dogs don't, and seeing the numbers of people killed/maimed and that pits are usually the cause. Also seeing the way pit owners/lovers are quick to come to the rescue of one that has killed or maim and the way they quickly make excuses for pitbulls. Anyone who makes excuses has something to hide or is in denial.
  • Sonya Del Rio Cerezo I have suggested numerous times starting a non-profit organization to have these dogs banned or regulated, but to no avail. So I've been researching how to get it going..
    Any takers?
