Christy Cornell --I'd have kicked it too. And shot it afterwards if it didn't leave the area from just being kicked.

Christy Cornell commented on an article.
A wagging tail does NOT mean the dog was friendly.
How blind are you people that you can't see video clearly shows the dog was barking and acting aggressive before that guy kicked at it. And there was another stray dog too, it is to the left and runs in aggressively at the guy, so it's likely these were stray or street dogs just hanging around and harassing the people in that shop area.
People have a right to be safe when in public. The dog should have left when the guy was shooing it away, but it didn't, so he had to use force.
If this was some place that didn't have animal control officers available or near, I'd have kicked it too. And shot it afterwards if it didn't leave the area from just being kicked.
For the love of animals. Pass it on.

  • Lesley Karen Luscombe They don't WANT to see it, Christy. Blinded by their own stupidity and fatal attraction to dangerous dogs.
  • Bob Tarpey true story. when i was in the navy in virginia a had to walk back to my ship through the newport news shipyard and i was attacked by a pack of dogs. 4 of them were charging me growling and showing fangs. i readied my fists and cocked back my arms whike staying low to catch the first one to come at me. every time they advanced i backed up. this went on abot 4 times u ntil i backed into the curb and fell on my back. I thought i was dead but then the dogs just stopped and trotted off. Falling down was the luckiest thing to happen to me, it looked to the dogs like i submitted and was no longer a threat so they just walked off. pretty funny eh.
  • Lesley Karen Luscombe Were they Pit dogs, Bob? If so, that was immensely unusual. Pit Bulls' want you ON the ground, to gain access to your throat. What an awful incident, no matter what breed.
  • Bob Tarpey i would have been dead for sure
  • Lesley Karen Luscombe Yes, I think you would be. Wow...
  • Christy Cornell Wow. Scary story. You could have been hurt really bad. So glad you were able to defend yourself. Grippers will commonly ignore the possible harm that would come to them if they are attacking a formidable foe. Those dogs which attacked you still had their natural traits of self preservation and that instinct made them stay away.

Do you remember what they looked like? We're they spaniels, hounds or herding/shepherd (collie and GSD looking dogs) looking dogs like what used to be our most common dogs? Sounds like that dog pack was probably a bunch of normal dogs that calmed down after the initial excitement and charges. They didn't take the opportunity to attack you when you were downed.

And it would have been a damn shame to have those nice arms marred by scars. LOL!
